Who We Are
About the Program
Since RCSA is a student advocacy group representing UW residents, in order to participate in this program, you must be living on campus.
Write an email to one of your representatives, senator, congressperson, international equivalent, etc. Make sure to follow the email guidelines.

Know you Representative
Look up your country of citizenship and type “find my representative”

Include your full name
Subject Line bill number (if applicable) and a brief summary of your topic
Ex. ““Constituent Regarding S. 1234, the [Bill Name] Act”

Introduce yourself and your Purpose for reaching out
Say you are a student at the University of Washington

Emails for empowerment aims to encourage engagement betweeen residents and their representatives- anyone from Senators Congressman, or international equivalents in order to promote self-advocacy, civil efficacy, and leadership among UW residents.
The Residential Community Student Association
(RCSA) serves as the democratic voice of
student residents and leads the residential
community through promoting engagement,
ownership, and advocacy. RCSA strives to enrich
student life and develop future leaders.
Emails for Empowerment was created and is run
by the RCSA Director of Government Affairs,
Naomi Law.
