WA State Elections

As part of RCSA’s first initiative, we are participating in a campus-wide voter registration drive. Our goal is to register as many students to vote as possible by Oct. 8. Below are frequently asked questions as well as information on how to register.

Am I Eligible?

Eligibility requirements are:

  • US Citizen

  • 18+ years old

  • WA State Resident*

  • Not in Federal prison

  • Not stripped of voting rights

*You are considered a WA State Resident for voting purposes if you have lived in the state for at least 30 days by the election date. In this case, you must have moved in on or before Oct. 6

what if i’m out of state?

You can still register here in Washington! If you moved here on or before Oct. 6, you qualify as a voter in our state elections. If you get a ballot back home, remember that you can only vote once by Federal law.

I will be abroad, can i vote?

Yes! If you meet the eligibility requirements but will be studying abroad, your ballot can be mailed to you anywhere in the world. Be sure to change your mailing address to wherever you will be. Ballots are mailed out to you on Oct. 19.

how do i register?

It’s simple! Click your language to be taken to the online voter registration form.

Can’t register online? Email extaff@uw.edu or talk to your RA to receive a physical registration form available in English, Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Russian. Forms can be returned to Willow or Lander front desks until Oct. 8.
